Valentine's Day Is Drawing Near

So.  I am a little behind the times . . .  but I just finished hooking and putting together a hanging heart and listing it in my etsy shop.  I can still manage to get it to someone by Valentine's Day if I ship it by Priority Mail and the Post Office behaves itself . . . .

I am pleased with it -- both because I actually finished something, and because I came up with a new way to finish it.  I pinched and stitched strip of wool, then stitched them onto the edge.  Hides the raw edge and adds a nice detail and some texture.

I made a couple of other Valentines, but it remains to be seen if I can get photos of them and get them listed.

Sarah, this is very creative. As I was examining your beautiful Valentine hooked heart I thought that you had attached a ready made little border but as I read on I found out that the border was actually just wool strips that you assembled yourself.

Great job. JB

Sarah, I got distracted and I'm not sure if I published my comment successfully so I'll try again just in case.

I think that you are very creative. I was examining closely how you made your border and I thought that you had actually bought a pre-finished border until I read that the border was made up of strips of wool. Great job. JB

Sarah, that is such a sweet little heart. Clever idea to finish it with picots out of wool strips.
