A panoramic pasted together by my daughter the photographer.
We are home and getting back in the swing of things. I loved Rome, but was happy to walk the beach with my little dog on Wednesday morning, and to sleep in my own bed. I brought home a nasty head cold and I am still waking up before 5 every morning, so I am pretty tired by dinner time. Am thinking about dressing the house and yard up for Christmas.
A few pics of our trip --
How we started each day . . . yummy cappucino
The restoration room
St. Peter's -- I love those Mediterranean pines
Bernini's Colonnade
The Pantheon
Clara Attacking a Roman Soldier (for a price, of course)
Campo de Fiori
The Coliseum
Every square foot of floor in the Vatican is a work of art . . . and inspiration for a rug, perhaps?
The entry of the 5-Star Hotel de Russie, where we had tea

And you took pictures of the floors~ there literally just isnt enough film in teh world to capture the .......I cant even think of the right word....you just have to GO and be there~ some things just must be seen with ones own eye. I hope you feel better soon~ always thinking of you & Barb

Looks like a fantastic trip, even with a cold. Would be jealous, if I hadn't been there with you!
How nice that you got to go to Rome, but sorry that your cost included a head cold.
I would love to go to Rome as my oldest daughter has been there countless time. She's visited all over Italy and many other interesting countries and has taken similar photos that you did while in Rome. It's always been my dream to visit but I have to content myself with looking at her pictures and descriptions.
She lives in Scotland and fly often on the weekend with her boy friend. She speak Italian so he takes her along as an interpret.
Have a restful week and take care of yourself. JB. JB
Hi Sarah,
I was reading your blog through a link (my sister is Jennifer Schordine) and saw your photos in Italy. Beautiful! We are in the process of planning a trip there in the spring - may I ask if you took a tour or ventured on your own? Thanks! Debra
Debra: Hi! I haven't seen Jen in ages -- hope she is doing all right. We loved italy -- our 3rd trip there. We have never taken a tour -- we don't like to be that structured. This last trip was a really inexpensive package through Travelzoo. Email me at paisleyrugs@gmail.com. I'm happy to answer any questions, especially for Jen's sister! Sarah
